Recent issues which have come across our desk include double insurance, premium liability, questions of due dilgence under the Institute Cargo Clauses, rights of subrogation, collusion clauses, burdens of proof arising under the Institute Bulk Oil Clauses and, of course, various piracy-related matters such as the apportionment of ransom demands between property and personnel interests in the context of sue and labour claims, and between primary and excess underwriters.

In addition to policy interpretation, and where necessary, policy claims are also defended on behalf of our marine underwriter client base.
