Jane Martineau

Jane’s expertise is offered to the clients of Roose+Partners on a consultancy basis.

Having been a partner at Clyde & Co for many years and having built further on that experience during her time at Ross & Co, Jane is renowned for her exceptional expertise in marine and non-marine insurance, with particular reference to coverage issues.

Jane regularly handles the defence to claims involving the removal industry and alleged professional negligence of marine surveyors.  Her experience in handling non-marine coverage disputes includes  particularly jewellers claims, subsidence claims and claims where issues arise under buildings and contents insurance.  On the marine side, she was involved for the London Market in the  relatively recent Commercial Court case of Mamancochet Mining Ltd v Aegis and others [2018] EWHC 2643 in which the English Commercial Court considered the scope of a U.S. sanctions exclusion clause.

Jane lives in Oxford and has two sons and enjoys outdoor pursuits, reading and the theatre.
